This is a strange request. If anyone has a mechanical pencil - a good one where you can replace the lead, could you try to remember to bring it? There is a trick one can use to straighten a bent pin on a cpu by slipping the barrel of a mechanical pencil over it an gently bending it back straight again. I need to attempt the same idea with the motor shaft of a tiny quad. The shaft on a motor of my little Cheerson quad got bent slightly in a crash so the propeller wobbles a little and I thought that might work, over just trying it bend it straight with a pair of pliers. Thx.

It gets worse. Not only did he brandish a firearm, but he did so while illegally impersonating a law enforcement officer. And then he actually POINTED IT AT SOMEONE (hint: that constitutes assault with a deadly weapon) and threatened them.

Fuck me sideways... 3 felony acts from one village idiot! Thankfully, this person won't be present this year. (Or ever!)

But yeah, that's the incident that prompted the "no weapons" warning that is now plastered on the registration post of every SELEM. Sigh...

I'll volunteer to bring a box of 12" 'stage-flats'.. .I assume there will be at-least 8-10 other 'true Bounce Mirrors', there?
I will try to make room for my two mirror trees and 8 bounce mirrors. We can set them up in "Club-SELEM"

What is the ceiling-height in 'ClubSELEM'?
Maybe 20 ft? Or a bit less if you factor in the large support beams. Here is a picture:

More pics in my gallery for the Newton Connover Auditorium.

Note that the windows will all be blacked-out. (Thanks to Witcher88!)

is it just 'not-possible' to have MBs / motors in the Auditorium? IIRC, it's like 30' ceil-height in there, or something crazy, correct?
Closer to 40 ft! The problem is that there isn't anything to hang them from, and getting power up there would be very difficult. Even if we had the huge ladder, and assuming Johnathon (Platinum) was willing to scale it again, we don't really have a good way to mount them.

Besides, the idea of a repeat of this stunt has me worried:

A fall from that height would be fatal.

    Re: Spec...

Yeah, we gotta try and coerce his keister to come-up.. I'll give him a Ping on IRC, later.
Let me know what you find out. I spoke with him briefly via text about a week ago, and he seemed to be elbows-deep into some project. Not sure what it was, but if he can break away it would be great to see him at SELEM.

I assume you are all-set with yer FAA-filing? Happy to help
Call me about this when you get time today. (843) 324-0735. Might actually have use for your 9 watt RGB, but it will require some changes to the letter. Time is short though!

is *anyone* bringing a Mobo ML-10, or at least an 8? Or, any-sort of DMX-beam-table sys? And.. Mirror-balls, w/ Motors? I have a.. 'vision'..
I'll be bringing my RGB mobo-beast again this year and a mirror ball setup eerily similar to the one Photonbeam posted in another thread (cuz it used to be his)

    Brad,
Make sure that it's really the shaft that's bent and not just one of the blades. The blades bend very easily and can make it seem like the shaft is bent. I've never bent a shaft, but I bend props practically every flight on my little quads. To verify it's not the shaft just put a new prop on. You can even use the opposite corner prop if you don't have any spares.
What diameter and length are the motors. I may have a spare for you if it really is bent.

    2 things:

I have an ALC 60x head that is bad (MWK refurb), a MWK ALC 60 PSU and umbilical. I'm interested in selling it, would there be interest in it? I hate to haul it all the way down there unless there is interest.

Second, please leave room on the counter for the video recording computer in the auditorium. It's a 4u anvil rack, a 23" LCD and a small macbook computer. Pretty compact. Will bring a pair of XLRs for audio from the board. I normally sit the mac in front of the rack and the monitor on it but this can be changed. It's not a space hog (But in the meantime..)
