Maybe your management wanted you to step into the 21st century and store digital copies of your stuff instead of wasting trees?

Jeez mate, nice gratitude on someone trying to help you

Simplez, capture what you need (either the full screen or part thereof) save it somewhere, open the save capture in windows preview (right click on the image and select preview) and then print from there

Yes it has extra steps than what you had but it doesn't require any software

The snipping tool allows you to define capture options

and you can setup keyboard macros to open it

Outside of that, hit your IT group up to allow install of third party software, good luck with that!

Is customizing the 'Send To:' options from the right click an option for you?
Not sure if 'Default Printer' is even one of the options (I'm not using the new fangled Win7 yet) but I expect it could be made one of the options.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Cheers Norty. I took a look at the options available via 'Send To:' and there is a way to send a file to a specific printer (by getting the registry setting for your printers and using that to create a folder in the sendto directory)
However, in order to send a picture file I'd first have to create it and then save it somewhere whereas I'm trying to achieve the goal in as few steps as possible.

I still think that a Batch file is my best option (perhaps using sendto)
Researching this subject is quite illuminating though as most folks first response to similar requests is "install this software..."
Obviously a no no for my own situation.

All I need to do is flesh out the command sequence for the following.

    1. Command to emulate PrtScrn keypress
    2. Open mspaint (or similar)
    3. Paste clipboard contents into mspaint
    4. Print from mspaint to default printer.
    5. Close mspaint (with no request to save current pic)

    or maybe....

    1. Command to emulate PrtScrn keypress
    2. save contents of clipboard to a file (using pipes?)
    3. Emulate keypress of sendto on specified file

Some things to think about during the wee small hours ......

    Onwards and upwards ..........

p.s. I tried the help desk option (just for shits and giggles).
Apparently the "official" workaround is to use print screen, open mspaint, paste into mspaint and then print from that. All I'm trying to do is automate this to a single click (via batch file).

    Thumbs up

    Sorted.

Thanks to some guidance from Norty I investigated various options and have managed to get a working script that does exactly what I wanted to do.

    Cheers Fella !!
