Default Rebuild CNI 650 modules to 637?

Hey guys, i have a couple of old CNI 650 modules, is it easy to rebuild them to 637 by simply changing diodes or do i need to add some other correction optics?
I haven't opened them up yet as they are still in projectors. Just an idea i had over lunch today

Edit: Found out that i had a spare 445 module that was dead. Perhaps i could mod it to red?
Don't have much experience in building modules but id love to try.

Here are some pics from the inside, cant't figure out how to get the diode out of the holder.
Any ideas? Also what red would do best with the optics of a blue?

Edit2: Blue module is fucked beyond recognition now. Never mind the first edit.

The 637 diodes will probably want some secondary optics, but you could try swapping them out and see if you can live with the beam quality with just the standard lens... (After all, the 650 reds have a pretty large beam to start with, so you might not notice the difference.)

I have a cni mrl v 1w 650nm which is the same housing as your 445, just the 650nm was a C-Mount block on tec, so not worth modifying it, yea the cni 445nm is more worth the mod as it already uses 5.6mm diode, you could just replace them with those 170mW 637nm opnext ones
