Smile New DMX beam-rail from Goldenstar

Not sure how many of you get "new product" updates from Mimi at Goldenstar, so I thought I'd share this. They're calling it the "LaserBar". Looks damned cool...

Basically, it's 10 diodes with adjustable mounts, each with it's own analog driver, all controlled via DMX. The red units put out around 300 mw for each beam, but they have higher power blue and green units available too. Prices run between $600 and $700 per bar.

Here's what a bunch of them look like in use:

How about a 3D laser grid?

I have more pictures posted in my gallery, along with a spec sheet. Seriously thinking about getting some of these for SELEM this year, assuming I can afford a few...

The bottom picture was taken in their assembly area. No one other than the cameraman was present.

But yeah, you are right - you'd never actually set them up that low in a real show environment. It was just a cool picture to show what a bunch of these things look like when running all at once.

The middle picture in my post above (the one that shows them in use at the concert) is more indicative of how they would actually be used. You would always need to mount them high enough to keep the beams at least 3 meters above the highest point in the audience floor.

That would be tough, since the lasers in your clip were actually moving around.

I figured you were going to link to this clip instead:

Ok, so many company's think of the same product at the same time :-)

If I want to build one myself, is there anyone who know how to do with dmx? Where could I find a dmx controler ? I'm a noob on electronic...

Maybe for the beginning only an on /off will be enough..
