    Default Possibility of new diodes?

With 10k lumens this is 5x the power of the Ca$io... I wonder if they are just adding banks of the generic 445's or if they have developed a new laser diode.

    An expensive harvest but hey

The Casio projectors are single chip dlp. By going to three chip you eliminate the color wheel, and you increase the overall brightness since you're not using the blue (for example) a fraction of the time... The green phosphor technique wasn't very efficient btw.

well, it says here (if it is the same projector) that despite this being 3 chip, it only has blue lasers inside

I might be reading too much into it, but check the image below.

Note the small section with the yellow laser module "array". If taken at face value, this is 13x5 diodes = 65 diodes. And also, it states there are 2 banks of blue lasers.
This *could* be 130 diodes, and ties in roughly with the C@$10 5x the power; but obviously which diodes are actually used will be the biggest difference.

I wouldn't like to see the price mind(!).
It would also be a crying shame to take a knife to such a beast just for it's kidneys.

briggs could it be the 3.5w 445 diode we saw at the meet?

Price wise... It'll likely cost about the same as three of ya Pico's.
DP's prices are a bit higher than Barco's for equivalent kit... And last I looked a 40k Barco cost around £35,000.00 +VAT... but I have trade sources to DP if you're still interested in a harvest?
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

    Not a clue...
Even if it does, the individual diode price would be about the same as buying one bare diode new.
In order the make the "harvest" viable, the projector price would have to be <£10,000. Which it won't be. Not even close.

Exactly. For 40000 you can buy a tray from nicha directly i,m sure. Probably for less since the quantity will push the price. That,s why the green diodes stay expencive unless some ebay seller can afford to buy 100 or 1000

I've seen trays of the 9mm greens in person; those sorts of quantities do not drop the price much, if at all.
