    Default anyone tried www.animated-lines.com?

i found this site which is like ebay for ilda files.
    http://www.animated-lines.com

Anyone tried it? it looked cool from first glance but after reading their terms of use it sounds terrible.

OK, so 50% of what I sell goes to them. fine. i guess.

    But this part...
By submitting Content to Animated Lines, the Content Provider hereby grants Animated Lines a worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive right regarding any Content submitted by the Content Provider to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, market, sublicense, sell and/or distribute this Content.\
they can resell my stuff as their own and get all the profit? WTF? did i not get it or something?

I had a little looksie into the folks running this site and thought it sounded a bit familiar.

The involvement of LaserWorld is no surprise as they are renowned on Planet Earth for their shady business practices.
    Probably best to steer clear.

No doubt other sites will spring up offering a better deal for the folks providing the content in the first place.

considering how similar and lame a lot of those animations are, i'd guess they seeded the site with their own work.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Correction: 120,000 Frames submitted (not animations).
And as they charge by the frame (regardless of it's just the same one moved down by a few degrees) then the actual number of animations will be well below the figure of 120,000 animations.

It always pays to read the small print in anything to do with LaserWorld.

BTW: Ralph Douw (who has registered LaserLand GmbH) has also registered Laserland UK which has been active in the UK for the last 8 years.
Companies House records show that, although they have been active for all this time they only have working capital of £100 and share the same postcode as over 250 other companies.

That's either a very busy street or some mailing address/Drop Box created for tax avoidance/convenience.
Either way it doesn't engender much confidence .......

Btw im new to this field. is there anything bad in particular that Laserworld has done to deserve all the bad reputation or are they just stupid things like this?

They DO have some nice animations on there but definitely they are NOT worth what they are charging for them...

    I think anyway...

    Those animations look terrible.
Also site is a big buggy and the prices are a ripoff.

Also it seems a lot of the content is traced and not made by themselves or quickly animated by someone who isn't very experienced.
The prices are steep for what you are getting.

Just get someone to do the work for you if you need more frames, it's not expensive if you look in the right places
Bulk frame orders usually go cheaper *at least for me they do*.
I'm using methods like adobe flash puppets and applied for professional animation classes to keep training my skills to provide efficient, convicing and entertaining animations and they are also unprotected.

Hey MasterPJ, I've seen a few of your youtube videos... Those animations look sharp! You ever consider sharing some of those shows?? The laserpon3 performance had some really nice stuff in it...
