Curious to see the color difference against an older 445... maybe an M140 or even against the Osram PLTB450B diodes. This might give us a better color index, especially if the actual wavelength of the compared diodes are unknown.

Yeah, it's difficult to try to figure why it's not more noticeable. Could be that the camera is saturating. 100mW single mode is fine, but for us who do outdoor shows, we really need a bit more, although I remember starting out shows with a 10mw 488nm argon .. heh .. single mode TEM00 beams are definitely nice![]()
488nm argon blue would be nice and open up so many old school show possibilities.
I miss my 60x![]()

yeah, 488 is my flavorite color
I bet you could find a 60X on ebay somewhere absolom ..
. . .
yeh .. here ya go.. here's 1 :

Oh, I know. I just don't need to be spending the money on an ion. Much as I want one, I don't know what I would do with it outside of admiring it's beauty.

Well, I gotta say that the color in that final shot (maybe it's running hot-which may lower the wavelength- ) looks to be a nicer brighter blue .. If it could be measured to be around 462 it would be worth around $200 I would think .. waiting on Lasertack's measurement .. and.. I think Eric's got a spectrum analyzer too I believe ..

Yep really need to get one myself. It is on my list of equipment to acquire. I don't doubt it is hitting 460nm+ but the 445's have been known to run as high as 455nm specially when driven hard.![]()
Yeah I'm sure. Would like to see a lifespan tho when driven really hard-and-hot of at least 1500-2000 hours or so ..
--still, 455 is not 462.. I'm still curious about the NDA7175E .. can you get engineering samples Jordan?![]()
