    Default Beam Table Started!

Thanks to everyone here, I've learned enough to begin construction on a new beam-table. (Hopefully- I'll get it right the first time ) Its going to have the dual Marconi setup and a WL SpyderII (that I got for free-so can't complain) Which I hope will all combine well. Ive got the dichro and 2 fs enh-al mirrors from EO. My digital camera's a piece of crap so please excuse the fuzzy photos..

I'm gonna try to save enough room for the mandatory blue later on.
Marconi--your module runs so cool. I had it on for 15 min the other day and it didn't even feel warm (I'm [of course] going to heatsink it anyway.) Can't wait to get your 2nd module

    Thumbs up

Good luck man! I'm in the same boat. I just started putting all mine on an aluminum plate but don't know what to do for an enclosure. That is a nice heat sink. How powerful is that spyder? Even though it was free I shiver to see it in a "projector".

Wait, that spyder is blue correct?

Yup its a pointer but it is about a quarter watt of green
Yeh they come in blue and red too.
The heatsink and chassis came from scrap at work (it was in a garbage can) . Dam, I wish peop would quit throwing away useful stuff!

You goin gwith 400mw of red and 250 of green? You plan on 300mW of blue? How are you blanking the green?

    Coming along nicely though.

    Wow that looks great steve-o!

Yup its a pointer but it is about a quarter watt of green
Thats on heck of a pointer, will you be able to modulate the output ttl or analog?

    Thanks Y-all.
Uhh- pull the pointer and put in a module w/ blanking. -or
I may to try to work on a mechanical device that will vary the amount of green..
(working with what ive got--y'know; cashflow issues )
    Steve
PS- how much blue do I need?
<edit> nevermind-I know better than to ask that question.

I was thinking of varying the input voltage for analog modulation, but I don't know if that would be too good for it. I guess that would depend on the circuit design they're using..

    Default PSU done

The power supply is done and mounted. Now to figure out how to modulate the green pointer.. then I can start bolting everything down, and search for cheap scanners.
    edit> oh---and a blue la$er :0
--or maybe i'll just make this a YO laser (yellow/orange)
