    I have used the z-bolt heatsinks and never ever needed to TEC anything. BUT they are bolted to a 12"x18"x1/2" breadboard. I don't see the diodes getting warm in the z-bolt sinks running for hours at full power hanging in the air either though. The problem with them is they are huge. If you want to make a quad or such they become impartible.

    yeah, I m confortable with z bolts on green-blue, also for red of course, but my Oclaro's reds goes to Dave's mitsu correction kit housing to align x-y axis for asph 2mm lens (similar to #1 housing). This is why considering Tec

    Also, I m going to run them at max 700mw each (pbs) and I dont want fry them by only convection to baseplate cooling, as Buffo pointed

    Some of the TEC controllers on BangGood.com come with solid-state output relays. In theory they should last nearly forever.
