Default Micro Beam Combiner / Knife Edging Modules

    Hi Guys,

For sale are beam combiner / knife edging modules. These are newly developed and based on a modular principle.
The diode mounts are designed for 3,8mm , 5,6mm and 9mm diodes. They produce different beam shapes (4x1 or 2x2).

The baseplate is made to fit all diode mounts we designed for. That means that all modules (red, blue, diode green) can be build in the same size by using different diode mounts. The material is anodized aluminum.

Also available are L-Mounts which can be used to combine two diodes through a PBS and the third one through a dichroic mirror.

The mirror mounts are very tiny. The size is 5x10x12,5mm and can be adjusted in height as well as in any other direction.

The size of the whole module is 54x60x22,5mm. So it is possible to get 8W of 445nm light out of this tiny module.

    Included in every set:

    1x baseplate
4x mirror mounts with an M9x0,5 thread for the lenses
    1x diode brass diode mount
    and all necessary screws.

PL price: 85€ incl. PayPal fees plus shipping and 19% VAT (for EU customers only)

A top cover is under design now. It will make it possible to combine several modules for an RGB system and add correction optics, PBS and so on. Everybody who ist interested in, can buy the module now and wait for the cover as it will exactly fit the baseplate.

!!!IMPORTANT!!! This price is only valid for PL members with at least 50 posts.

    Hi,

Could you also mill/deliver these for 3.8mm diode's?
I want 4 of these sets if they where for the 3.8mm.

    Kind regards,

    Bart

    Hi Bart,

Sure, it is not a big deal in general. The problem is that I order them in larger qty. of 100pcs or more. For lower qty. the price rises dramatically. If there is interest in 3,8mm size, I can order them. The price will remail the same.

What beam shape should it be, 4x1 or 2x2?

    Alex

I love it !! PM you as soon as possible... (when i got money for it)
Maybe there are more people that want a 3.8mm kit ???
i like it also for the tiny single mode diodes for doing some animation shows !
    Thanks for sharing this !

I'm not sure how the mirrormounts work.
Are they flex style or are the beams aimed by positioning the diodes ?

I like this style mount. A little tricky to fine tune but rock solid when tightened down. Two holes accept a rod type tool to lever the mount into alignment. A long enough tool makes fine alignment possible.

Attached are several pics showing how to adjust the mirror mount.

-Bart- you´re right. This mounts are not as easy to align as Thorlabs 3-Axis mounts but I think the size of the mounts makes it worth. With a large thin tool it is pretty quick done and it is rock solid as no pressure (adjustment screws) is applied to the mount.

These look very interesting indeed Alex.

    Nice and compact!

Could you tell us more about your plans for the top cover please?

    Thanks
    Keith

absolutely interested in some 2x2 quads for 3.8mm diodes!
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
