My mom's 85 and she's in the same boat. I got her a laptop and she never used it; couldn't figure it out. She wants to see us (my wife and I) on phone calls, and it would be nice to see her too. I doubt if she would ever use a tablet or smartphone . I thought of Skype but doubt that because it's basically pc/smartphone based. Video conference phones are exxxpensive. Sorry for the off-topic, but thanks for starting this thread Steve. looking forward to see where it goes ..

You can use Skype on your desktop, so long as you have a web cam.
