They allow a laser projector to be used like a mirror ball essentially - the idea is you mount it vertically with the aperture pointing towards the floor although I have seen videos of people with them mounted normally as well (presumably just to give an extra wide scan as per a normal projector).

Here's a pretty old promotional video:

    and an explanatory one:

I don't think they make the Dazzler anymore.

Considering I don't like 520nm and it's effect on the yellows, hardly.

Andy if I want to pass an opinion on a product or help answer a question about a product, I'm going to do it whether you like it or not.

If you take that as promotion, then your welcome to. Suffice to say I make no finacial gain from informing someone what a Discoscan is or havng an opinion that a Kvant has a nice white.

Finally! Something Al and I agree on.
    520nm makes bleurgh yellows!

A monumental day I've waited years for!

Life-span: that's down to the diode manufacturers and their specifications. We did test the red and greens for their limits, but not the blues for quite obvious reasons, see below:

    Red: 2000 hours
    Green: 5000 hours
    Blue: 50.000 hours

So it is fair to say that after 2000 hours you will need a new red.
I think it is pointless to say here that we expect 10.000 hours on the whole system as some often do, unless of course they use laser diodes from a different world.

Time limited offer: yes, it certainly is. We'll see how it goes. At the moment it goes well
