How does it work? Is it a passive optical device like a wedge?

Yeah, its is the same tellurium dioxide wedge as the PCAOM itself but without no transducer. It just allows the diffracted waste beam to be recombined into a single beam

Fascinating.. 'Dark Side of the Moon played backwards'. Seen them in a large 'beam-table pj', before (iirc, it was an LFI-table ??..) but never used one, m'self..

...Would be interesting to see what it 'does' to Pol. in the 'recombined' beam.. Wonder if you could get some trippy-fx shooting the recombi'd-beam into a second PCAO... Of course, your modulation would be reigned-over by the 'first' AO, but... provided that the polarization was intact, having 'modulation-interference' might make for some really-trippy 'chop-style' fx out of a second PCAO.. Could end-up being really kinda like that time when Spec and I shot a machita's output thru a machita.. ..Or, ya, could make for complete trash.

Neato.. Sorry there's nothing much in the 'toybox fund', right now to offer ya, D.. *sigh*

I can see it correcting the beams to be parallel with each other but how does it combine them into a single beam?
