Im sure there were others on the laser faq, but i cant seem to find them :S

In practice, unless you can find screws with a very fine thread, and tap threads to suit, you wont get a great result. We home made some early on, but the results obtained weren't that good, so we gave up and now don't quibble over the cost of real mounts

Perhaps what you could do Andy, is do it on the cheep, then when you make some cash from laser shows, reinvest it into stuff like pro mounts
cheers mate and yeah when i make some money i am going to invest it back into my scanner

    Hi Andy,

Cool projector!! Regarding the overlap, if both of us are in the same place at the next PL laser gathering, I see that it will be beneficial for me to put on a little tutorial about "near-field convergence" and "far-field convergence". It's a tough concept to grasp initially and, I wouldn't try to describe it using only words on a forum post, but basically it's the only way that you will get a beam that overlaps perfectly both on the scanner mirrors and on the screen.

I was able "teach" this concept to a PL member or two at the last FLEM...

    Best regards,

    William Benner

Sorry to have to disagree with some of you on this but I'm with Andy on this one; I think half the fun is building your own stuff. I'm building this X-Y mirror mount --
    We'll see how it goes
