    As others have mentioned - use the TL-082/084 family. They are J-fet op-amps and are just about bullet-proof. (The QM-2000 uses them on the output stage, if that means anything to you!)

    Yeh I could never get the LM3900 to work right for any project .. I too would avoid it / and the headaches involved ..
