Default Cheap RGB laser for programming

    Hi,

I have been looking for a cheap RGB laser just to use at home for programming beam shows so I don't have to keep firing up my big lasers at home. Anyone got any good suggestions or selling anything that would suit this?

I have seen this one on Ebay but have heard bad things about imported lasers but as its just going to be used for home use it might be ok.

    Hi mate,

I thought I would get some opinions on this product first. I am based in London, England. Do you know of anything that would be good for what I need I really don't need anything fancy its literally just for designing effects at home before looking at them on my decent projectors.

    Pangolin Light Converse

Much cheaper than a projector and gives a realistic show view.

does it simulate scanner flicker, and persistance of vision effects?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I would prefer it to see it in real live. Rizard and i working on the same thing. The power will be 200mw of green, 200mw of red 637 and 200mw of 450. Guess what the green will be.....

No it simulates how it looks into a crowd so you can take certain things of a stage in account.
it does not deform a graphic which scanners always do (round out corners).

It's a good product though no offense but will not be off use to what he is aiming for.
as far as I know it does not simulate scan speed.
I recommend though to inform about this at pangolin.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I have seen Light Converse in Pangolins brochure, it does look a good product however, I prefer a more hands approach than screen simulation.

I suppose I'll keep hunting around even a 2nd hand will do!

    Scanner flicker, no.

    Persistence, not sure.

The simulation is as close as you can get to the real thing.

I'm not talking off the top here - I have a full copy.

It blows any preview in any laser product I've seen including the entire Pangolin suite of control products out of the water. Enhanced reality preview looks like a kiddies drawing by comparison. It's pretty much the closest thing you can get to a beam show without actually projecting one and the defacto number 1 Pangolin product for visual simulation. The beams in it have true translucency and 3d propeties. When I do cues or shows, its the only thing I preview in now.

JUst wanted to add if the op still wants a cheap laser then look at NRG or Winnie's Goldenstar lasers. There's another post on Goldenstar and you can get DT30's fitted. I think NRG use DT's as well although you'd have to check.
