Default Another use for a laser...

With the bundled app for advancing slides, it's kind of a cool little gizmo for presenters. I get a ton of business people that ask me if I have a clicker or a laser pointer available on a regular basis. Wonder if Apple would ever just automatically integrate a laser with their phones for other purposes. (leveling, etc.)

Very cool. It might make it past NZ customs service.

On the one had I see no safety harm in having a diode of less than 1mw in the side of a phone, and for business it could be useful.

On the other hand, it could be an absolute nightmare.

Imagine at a concert or a club and the entire audience having laser pointers in their phones (ie probably 1,000-10,000 people! Would destroy any show and could be annoying for performers and other attendees alike). Most likely outcome would be phones would be banned which in turn would affect audiences as most people these days video from their phones.

lol. If Apple put one in their phones, they would cost another $100.

Not a new idea, it's been done before.
I have a few that were made for the old iPods - very small

I got them very cheap (less than $1 each). Little 650nm but still neat.
