Four years ago today...

I joined this wonderful forum.

And, this Saturday will mark the four year anniversary I registered for my first LEM with some guy on here named buffo. (Still don't know where that screen name originated!) It was called SELEM... an event being held a few weeks later in some backwoods town in North Carolina that people couldn't agree on how to pronounce and, on a leap of faith, without a clue as to what I was about to get into, committed to driving 16 hours round trip.
Walking in backstage at 11:30pm on Saturday night to a venue full of fog and a ridiculous amount of computers, strange boxes and miles of wires strewn about, my first thought was, "Oh, this isn't for me. I'll never get to this level."

Wow, what a ride the last four years has been!

At my first SELEM during the Thursday night dinner I went around the table and asked everyone how they came up with their screen name. Maybe we should do this every year, it really gives you some insight into the person. Some of the stories are really incredible.

Haha Brad, congrats and this acts too like a reminder for me to see I'm not so far to celebrate my 10 years on PL, damn, time is going so fast!!
And if needed, a proof that this "hobby" is the most addictive in the world, I never did so long on any other forums, lol.
