    Default One E-Stop, many outs

Instead of having multiple e-stops (one for each laser), does anyone know of a way to master e-stop ALL lasers, and only have one big red button? A daisy chained thing maybe? Or individual runs, that connect to one big button?

The Stanwax ILDA board has this ability. There are two possible ways to use this board with the E-stop function. Ether by daisy chaining the 9 pin socket or daisy chaining the E-stop function down the spare conductors within the ILDA cable.

Multi way relay board. Press button, lots of contacts go open, all isolated from each other.
I just finished soldering up an 8 way board last night that I'll post a pic of later.
How you then connect that to your projectors is another matter, but you'll need something like Rob's board, or DZ's breakout board, or your native projector interlock board to run the functionality 'projector-side'.

I'm not sure how Rob's board works, but lots of solutions run 5V (or some voltage) down the interlock loop, so you cannot simply tie them all together at a single point, or you get magic smoke or incorrect functionality.

Once I'm happy that my board works ok, I'm thinking of getting some proper PCB's made up, so they could be supplied populated or with a parts list for integration where required.

I daisy chain all my projectors to 1 Estop using DB9 splitters (2 male 1 female) here is a link

I would really like to know what pins are not used in the Ilda cable to wire through that. I have 2 swisslas units and that's how their Estop works and I find it such a better idea than running a separate cable. I might re wire my other projectors so that they can all work by Estop through ilda.

Pins 4 and 17 are the interlock loop on the DB25.

I'll post a pic of my whole setup, including estop, stage box, estop over ILDA and internal projector pass-thru relays if its useful.

That would be great norty cheers. I was thinking of making some breakout cables like the swisslas ones so when the ilda gets to the projector there is just a break off DB9 that could just be plugged into the DB9 socket. Will have a look at your pics

The breakout cables might be a better option for an off the shelf solution.
As I build my own projectors, I have the choice of doing it my own way, which involves 2 boards from different small suppliers, and 2 of my own design boards to accomplish.
The downside is that I'm at the mercy of the suppliers, and actually my choice of one of the boards is no longer available, so that leaves a question mark over any future builds.

Would it be a good idea to wire the breakout cables for the projectors in a parallel circuit with the breakout coming off so that if 1 projectors fails it doesn't knock all the rest out? Hope this makes sense lol

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'if one projector fails'.
Should this affect the estop functionality? Should you (or even can you!) connect all the interlock loops in parallel? I know i can't on mine.

Where is your projector signal coming from in this example, a DAC directly, or via another projector? If another projector, how does the 'feeding' projector handle the pass-thru loop?

I don't actually know how the interlock works inside a projector in terms of say if you had 2 projectors interlocks linked in a loop circuit and 1 projector is switched off would it break the chain in terms of a circuit board not making connection anymore.
