You're based in Athens. Do you know the location of the scanner manufacturer, EMS? So much has been written about Pangolin and more recently PT scanners from China, but little about EMS and recently nothing after Tom stopped posting. It would be interesting to hear about this company from someone that visited their facility or met Tom or the others that work there.

To add insult to injury.... I just got a bill from FedEx for $9.52 for customs duty by China for this too. On a 2.5lb package declared at $50!

Holy fricking shitballs....

Again... DO NOT use FedEx to ship anything to China!

I just had a discoscan 2.0 lens shipped directly from pangolin to a projector manufacturer in China, so they can attach the bracket for it to one of my new 3.4 watt all-diode projectors, & shipping cost $47 usd (using pangolin's fedex account), and we put the value at $50, so I don't mind if we have to pay $10 to import it, that sounds good to me. I think one of the tricks is using a suppliers fedex account, as they get better rates than us little folk.

I use a third party courier booker which i thought was UK only, but it looks like you can select different countries for both origin and destination. I tend to use UPS (Interparcel Standard I think it is) or the DHL option.
Not sure if it will actually work for non-UK people but might be worth a look.

Also: dont ever use fedex for international period!
Unless you prefer your package to zigzag from country to country, and then get customs delayed.
(Has happened everytime with fedex).

Use: DHL , allways direct flight and never delayed by customs...
