Default Passed the laser safety examination!

Hey guys, just three weeks to the day after sitting the laser safety examination, I received a letter from the Radiological Council today informing me I passed with a score of 84%. Being over the 75% requirement for LSO I am now set once the license and equipment registration paper work come through.

Looking forward to performing many safe and legal laser shows in Perth.

Kit and I have been talking about joining forces not only with lasers, but also on the music production side. I picked up a new Korg EMX-1 the other day and have been busy beavering away at night writing, programming and producing dance music. Dance music and lasers... What a fantastic live combination when performed synchronously. I'll share some of my music soon when it is more polished.

    Wayne.

When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

Interesting. Wasn't there an Aussie DJ recently posting up about getting a laser who said that if its not a handheld, there are no restrictions....?

    P.S. Well done Wayne

edit: Oh yes, there it is...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Depends on which State or Territory you're in. The regulations are not Federal, though the AS/NZS standards still apply (same as IEC and EN standards for equipment and shows. The standards aren't regulated here in Victoria (yet) for example.

Thanks. Perhaps the DJ was thinking about imports, not ownership and operation.

Exactly. WA is the most restrictive of all Australia.

Standards AS/NZS2211-1 and ASNZS2212-3 apply Australia wide. WA have State Regulations and law that refer to these standards and in fact go a little further with additional regulations. We are after all the Nanny State.
