If you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room.
Theres talk THAT TURNOUT could be as high as 80% , so passions are high
Also for the first time EVER in UK , people aged 16 and 17 have been allowed to vote...
and they speak intelligently and passionately
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04hgk04 and are FINALLY engaged in politics
Its very close , its going to be a neck to neck finish
Im not a fan of Tommy sheriden , but i think he speaks very passionately for for the YES
side and engages with peoples spirits , and him and many like him have stirred peoples
emotions to vote YES
( hes a pretty controversial character - google is your friend :-)
Socialism is an awesome concept , if money grew on trees

One of the more controversial "tricks" of the yes campaign. It is well known that people who maybe are younger find the excitement of change often clouds their views. The reality is that this is generally thought to be a major reason why there may be a swing to the "yes" campaign. I am sure it will be debated long and hard if there is a "yes" vote, the "rebel without a cause" vote may well be significant.
The main issue is that it is so close that any minor change in terms of demographic, any adverse or positive political news in the world which may happen today or tomorrow, any sports wins or even the weather could be the thing which swings it. I think the mere closeness of the campaign will grab the attention of the Uk public, more than the actual process or decision. everyone likes a "nail biting finish" and I think this might just be one of the best. If this is really the best conclusion to such a monumental decision is a matter for debate. But as a great ending to an public debate, amazing

Voting is compulsory here though, so I guess 5% either didn't cast their vote or didn't complete it correctly. There is a fine for not being marked off the electoral role ($50 from memory). The price of democracy you might say.
I remember there were conspiracy theories at the time becasue it was tied in with an insignificant second vote which was said to have distracted from the main issue being voted on. I didnt read through the whole wiki page but there was mention of the two votes at the top.
I've not really been following news here of late but have heard talk for a week or so about the Scottish referendum. Several Aussie banks are involved/invested there I believe. I've heard its had some impact on our financial market.
..Just make 'the call' over two glasses of Scotch, since we all know.. 'IF IT ISN'T SCOTTISH, IT'S CRAA...' jk.. Hopefully, this-worry, will not come to-pass: http://munchies.vice.com/articles/sc...isky-industry/ ..I can't see it though, as it well-concludes, 'demand will always be there...' Hear, hear!
..but, really, although the family is http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8Wl0JIrsCG.../robertson.png ..I've got no opins, other than, whatever-happens, the Guv's will probably find a way to muck it up in some respect.. Hopefully, the People, however, will push-back to 'keep a balance', and keep thier voice strong.. At least better than over here, where in spite of a few valiant-protests here / there, the majority are still ruled / pushed-around via their tv-sets, and the "threat of terrorism".. It all needs a good flushing...
..Hoping for the best / a peaceful-outcome.. And as the Irish say, '..may the road rise to meet ya..'

Paul,
I agree control of a country should be centralised within that country, even if it part of a union. I guess this is also the same for EU and why it is so unpopular in the UK. Control of the EU is too much based around what France and Germany decide is right. I really hope Westminster delivers on the promises and that the whole episode ends up being a positive step forward.
Cheers
Steve
