Default Was it a good deal or did I get burned

Hello everyone, im in a terribly big hurry so ill comeback and introduce myself later. You see I just unexpectedly won this auction on eBay and now Im not sure what Ive gotten myself in to or if I should go through with it. To me its the deal of a lifetime. A 2.5 watt 532nm medical laser. Specifically it's a Lightwave Halfnote. How much should a properly working, used, Lightwave Halfnote be worth (just the laser head no power supply)? I would definitely appreciate if someone could help me out with this real quick so I can decide what to do. I promise Ill come back later and introduce myself and hopefully make some friends and contribute as well. Thanks in advance. Oh, the auction ended at $255.

It could be that anyone who knows about this laser is not online. It could be that no one knows about this particular laser at all. People here are on their own time, not yours.

That aside, welcome to PL. We can be a very friendly and welcoming lot and I guarantee you will learn a lot here. I know I have.

You need a reality check. Less than 6 hours in the middle of the night for some of us is not a long time. Your second post may well put off some of the people who might know from responding because people who are overly demanding often turn out to be a PITA

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

You are 100% correct sir and I want to get off on a better foot than that. My apologies everyone, I guess I was just a little excited. But still no excuse.

Some information here from a post on LPF in 2009 that might be of interest:

And I grumpy, first thing in the morning. But a couple of days is sometimes what it takes for people to pick up a thread, longer if its more specialist knowledge, as the number who might know could be counted on one hand as far as members are concerned.

Also, if your thread title was something along the lines of "Looking for information concerning a Lightwave Halfnote", instead of the title you're using, members with knowledge about that particular laser are probably more likely to join in with a constructive response.

As Norty mentioned, compared to the number of members who that are heavily into solid-state lasers, the number of members really knowledgeable about gas lasers are still relatively few and far between, so you might need a good catchy thread title to hook 'em!!

If you fill out your location info in your profile, you might luck out and find someone experienced relatively close by that could assist.

... I've seen working PDT lasers for medical skin treatment with powers >2W ending with prices from $300 to $1500, but this were devices with 652nm or 808nm and diodes as light sources.

So with 532nm (possibly a frequency doubled NdYAG) this should be a good deal, if you got it working ...

Eh, ever tried the search function...or google? Nah, I know that we sometimes get a bit over excited about lasers... (pun intended)

There is a lot of info, both technical and about price on this forum. There are even activa auctions on ebay that could give a pointer. They seem to run from 500 to 1000USD so 255 is def a good price. If it works!

    Good pics and info:

    Current auction at 699USD:
