It could be that the moncha dac has a single ended signal 0-5V for the colors and the Riya gives a differential signal for the colors. If your projector only takes single ended signals the riya gives 2.5V as max so you have half the power. I,m not 100% sure if i explain it the right way but maybe someone else can explain it a little better.
