I would be wary of using anything like a dome, as the laser beam isn't going to pass nicely through the plastic.

I use some of my Goldenstar cases outdoors. In this instance the 'Case I' from their website and then I use one of these (with an aperture cut out) over the top (with the yoke underneath)
As the front of the case is flat with no openings, and bit of water that gets in the front of the cover just runs down and off.

Only thing I would ensure for long term use is decent fan filters to stop insects crawling inside.

Incidentally, if you search for 'rain cover', they do quite a range of them now it seems, including a Showtec inflatable dome.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Hi

Have been also looking for solution to mount a laser on the streetlight pole.
I need it to work all year around so it means from -30- +35.
Have been looking at security camera enclosures that have heater in them.
Need simple green with scanners that can handle text and simple logos.

    Hope someone has good ideas.

you dont need any ideas , you came up with your own solution :-)
    Some thoughts though ...
532nm wont handle drops in temp , will fade and stop working - 520nm might work for you , but check divergence
the heater that comes with the camera housings are minimal and require 240v /110v
the lampost will move in wind causing BIG movements in projections
you might struggle to get everything in , scanner amps take up lot of room
You could keep just galvos and laser head in housing and run wires for laser driver/anps back to separate box
In the beginning there was none. Then came the light - #1 UKLEM - 2007

how about a nitrogen purged box with a simple flat window. Keep it under positive pressure to keep the humidity out and heat the window with a resistor. the positive pressure need not be very much. I bet a tank would last a week or two. add silica gel just in case the gas runs out.
