Unrelated sale question but, is this YOUR personal QM? I only ask to find out if you had to send the QM to Pangolin to do a firmware update or not to get it working.

My understanding is any board below serial number 7400 may not work without sending it to Pangolin. And even then it might not. I have a .net box and went to put my pro card in it (in the 8000's) and it doesn't fit , because as it turns out, mine was modified into a custom board for the original owner. (Confirmed by Bill Benner). All my other QM's are below 7400 and I haven't even bothered to see if they'll just work in the .net box or if I have to ship one to Pangolin first.

Thanks. I've been thinking about just reselling the .net box rather than go through all that.

Guys, I don't know much about network switches or anything.. What sort of additional budget are you looking at to get a range using the QM2000.net of, say, 500m with CAT5?

And out of interest, what about 200m wireless in a noisy concert environment?

For 500m use fibre optic cabling with a either a small switch on each end or fibre transceivers to get you the copper based connection

Multimode fibre can do 550m, after that move to single mode fibre and you can go to 40Km!+

Probably work out more reliable and the same cast as putting switches every 100m (and dealing with power for the switches)

Pricing is hard as there are a few variables (mostly getting the cable made)
