    Default Old Dye Laser???

I came across this old piece of laser equipment a while ago and think it's a dye laser head, but am not sure. It's made by the Silicon Valley company Chromatix that was active in the '70s, and they did make dye lasers, but that's all I know. All opinions about it will be appreciated!

Interesting item. It looks like some kind of wavelength selector - maybe for a dye laser? I don't see a dye cell or nozzle.

The tubular structure in the center is a "U" shaped tube with the ends underneath. Looks like a dye jet in a resonator with a rhomb crystal (seen under the large rectangular window on top). I wonder if the prisms are to guide a pump beam in? I'll take more pics this evening showing the features better.

Oh right - I see it. Maybe the prisms not only guide the pump beam, but separate and select the pump wavelengths? I will be interested to find out what it turns out to be. Nice optics!
