You have to check whether the timeline's events exactly exist.Open the preview windows,then :
1.Drag the timeline from begin to end,check whether the preview has laser output or not.If there is not,you must have blank .shs file.
2.Change to the 'Scene' mode,look at the timeline ,check whether there are events or not.If there is not,you must have coverd .shs file as a blank one.
From your phenomenon,it mostly the second possible,maybe you have done the misoperation to cover the original shs file as a new file.
So,attention please,before you need to change the files,do the backup cautiously.
