Although LivePro is more than capable, Beyond is more versatile.
I still miss the way LivePro works when i'm using Beyond, but its a case of adapting. LivePro is quite single minded as a performance tool. It doesn't even have a frame creation function out of the box [or didn't last time I used it]

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

So for a quick search I found something like this, totally in my price range.

Are refurbished computers worth it? And would an i5 still be more adequate?

I don't think you'll go wrong with that.

I'd take 7 over 8 any day. Fair warning.... Don't wait too long on that other one.

I'm a die hard XP fan but have 8.1 on my new Lenovo. So long as you're happy spending some time making it operate as you want it to regarding the UI it's absolutely fine

I found these on craigslist very local to me.

    15 and 1280x800

And this, not sure of size or res yet

Both seem reasonably priced. The one has a lit keyboard. But how important is 1080?

well brad you were right. i waited and missed it. oh well im in the market again. few questions. i know this is very debatable. but whats more important, higher processor, 1080p, or 15.6. i seem to like the more centered touchpad and smaller size of the 14. ideally but even harder to find would be a backlit keyboard. i really seem to like the set up of the thinkpads but, its really hard with all the choices out there. i have about a 600 dollar budget. any suggestions?
