    Default Wow.. medialas evolution

Latest Medialas RGB projectors have got motorised dichos combining the R, G and B, with a little remote control that you can use to adjust the beams for colinearity.

No more shouting accross the nightclub "LEFT, NO, MOVE THE BLUE LEFT, NO LEFT, NOT RIGHT, LEFT..."

Hmm.. so I wonder where can you get motorised mirror mounts from...

I don't know if they have a cheap way to do it... But if price is no object, these will work..

    $1370 each!

They would be nice, but not at that price.

Nice widget. I've worked on ideas that could have benefitted from those. In the end, it might be cheapest to use tiny servos and drivers made by 556 timer IC's, all controlled by a cheap model enthusiasts radio controller. Can't beat adapting mass consumer items for saving money. The performance could be good with a bit of care.

It's a great idea, I like the remote control (I have my shutter on remote control too ).
But I don't understand why spend thousands $$ for a motorized adjustment! With my projector I never had to re-align the beams... I am the only one?

    Default Servos

Dont know much about lasers yet.. learning fast with all your help.Thanks.
Part of my work in electronics is servicing RC.
Not sure how much resolution (how fine an adjustment) you are looking for
with dichros. If you do try with a servo ( a great idea for the budget) you may want to consider one of the high resolution types used by the heli guys on their tail rotors. They are still quite economic but are amazing in their resolution you can 'click' the Tx trim step by step and it follows and holds. Use a computer based Tx so you can set the trim step size. So don't buy the super cheap car one if you want good resolution.
Just another point .. servos and receivers dont like electrical Rf noise very much and can cause servo jitter.. maybe PCM with failsafe (hold last known position set) rather than PPM is the way to go.
    Cheers

    Default going motorised

First of all I'm new in the forum. Actually registered today and I'm seeing very interesting posts.
Hope I can help, for instance, about this topic Just look at this picture, I've two of this, they are X/Y (one axis motorized by stepper) and they are amazing in positioning mirrors or dichros.
Sorry about the language, I'm from Portugal.
