    Default Question for OPSL owners

Coherent specs say 2.3mm at 1.5mRad for most of the OPSL models. I am curious if this is what most are seeing?

Which wavelength and power specifically? It varies.
    - There is no such word as "can't" -
    - 60% of the time it works every time -

It's usually way less than that. My 8W 532nm from Kvant has a low divergence optic and is giving around 3.5-4mm with well under 1mrad, I have to measure it exactly after long distance but it should be between 0.5 and 0.7mrad ! If I measure the beam diameter at 5 meters, it is even smaller than at aperture

a friend of mine did a dam show and they shoot from 1 mile away. The beam was 20" on the dam face.

I know OPSL is supposed to be wonderful but, I'm still trying to visualize what something traveling a mile would look like. What kind of power was necessary to have a beam appear bright enough after a mile, displayed on a dam? I don't even want to fathom the cost.

I don't remember the details but I think it was 10 ish watts per color and I think it was 5 or 6 lines so 50-60w. Cost was 100,000 or more in total

I thought Grand Coulee was done with Coherent Saber(s). Or maybe that's their regular show.

Still... thats impressive and at least something I don't have to worry about buying. (At least at that power. ) I would think OPSL will eventually come down in price some though.

I have another question for experienced OPSL owners : is it possible to change the collimator? I mean, without ruining the inert gas filling of the cavity...
