Default using newer laptops with no built in ethernet ports

I just purchased a PC laptop with windows 8.1 and NO Ethernet port!
I'm running a pangolin .net setup.

so I pickup up a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter, and YES it worked flawless!
no delays no dropouts , even used an apc40 and all worked well.

    one important note though:

the apc40 will not work on my laptop with any USB 3.0 ports!,
luckily , the laptop I purchased, came with 1 USB 2.0 port, and as soon as I plugged in the apc40 to that port, it automatically recognized it. (was not aware of this).

    FYI

    Hey Carlos

I've just tested the APC40 with the USB3.0 hub + Gig Ethernet adapter I have and it works fine with my Microsoft Surface Pro 3

The USB3 adapter I'm using is one made by Unitek http://www.unitek-products.com/en/pr...ail.php?id=253
    On Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Unitek-Bus-Pow...unitek+gigabit

So far it has worked flawlessly for everything I've thrown at it (including multiple wireless cards, Spectrum analyser card and GPS all running at the same time)

    I'd highly recommend this device

interesting adapter, built in ethernet port and usb 2.0/3.0 !
that definately would have worked for me also, but since my laptop does have 1 older usb 2.0, im ok.

    thanks for the tip Troy!
