    Question Ilda cable sources

A simple enough question, but a search somehow failed to provide actionable leads… Where do you buy a good quality cable? What is a reasonable price? Looking for something in the fifty foot range to cover my bases for the foreseeable future.

    Thanks!
    Mike

    Hehe,

I have plenty in stock here in Australia, but shipping to anywhere outside is a bit of a deal breaker. If your interested Tribble, I can get you a price. I have 20m cables, which is ~ 60 foot

That's pretty funny... because it's true.. but the beige cables are just so cheap. Too bad they don't make black cables at the same price or even just a slight premium.

I love ya Dave, but I think this time it's just not a sensible option.

cheapest place I've found for black cables is:

    http://eightonlight.cn/products/Lase.../0611/350.html

somewhere around $80.00 usd for the 25 meter ilda cables! yikes!
maybe cheaper to just run a USB extender via Ethernet / black cat5 cables??

Do the standard DB25 cables have twisted pairs? I am not going to cut one open to check but I have my doubts that the cheap ones do. Are twisted pairs even a standard arrangement in these cables or is it only an ILDA thing? To truly take advantage of the differential signals do we need special cables?
