Laser Warning What is your opinion about buying a RGB 30 Watt Laser from a Chinese Company

I am planning to buy a RGB 30 watt Laser from a reputed Chinese Company.
    *RED 4W/637nm CNI
    *GREEN 16W/532nm CNI
    *Blue 10W/445nm CNI
    *Scanner: EMS8000
    *Scanner Speed: EMS8000 ( 80K)
    *Operation temperature: 25-32 degree
    *Power Requirement: 90V-240V
    *Power Consumption: 800W

    I need Expert's Opinion.

My purpose: Firstly Graphic animation and then Beam show for outdoor.
Hope to hear from the experts very soon.

    regards.

And not a single specification there for beam quality for Graphics. For graphics, beam quality and divergence is VERY critical.

    EMS8000 isn't 80k... 60k at the very best.

You're not going to obtain acceptable graphics with those lasers as the divergence should be horrible and furthermore not matched between colors, so you will end up i.e. with a big blue halo surrounding green and red.

Why do you need so much power? Long distance projection I believe? It's an extra reason to look at the divergence of the beams at first, because 2W of power with <1mrad will be more effective at long distance than 10W with 2mrad!

I agree that's awfully green heavy. You more commonly see blue being heavy as it's less expensive. I agree with Karl that your white is going to be off at full power but, at those three wavelengths, a representative "20" watts of decent white could be had with the current 4 of red and then adjusting for 8 of blue and 8 of green. I'm merely basing that on what I've seen from Lightspace. We all thought the Pluto projectors were too low in the red until you begin working with them and realize that 637 at a ratio of .5:1:1 wasn't too bad.

I also suspect that those higher power modules are not going to give you the tight graphics you're hoping for. The need for that much power in a graphics box suggests you're wanting to project a great distance, (otherwise you could get away with a lot less power) and from what I've seen, high powered modules, unless very good quality, are going to diverge a lot more than lower powered modules.

As a beamer outdoors though, it should be a fun rig.

Thanks a lot for your valuable opinions. I have to think again before buying the unit.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Enayet,

we are located in Eu, Since 10 years we are producing high power lasers like 10w -50w or more.

Personally I'd want to buy from someone I trusted at that level ie, RGB Lasersystems Hungary or Kvant Slovakia.

30W is only 30W if it makes 30W and even then if it has to be turned down to balance the white.....

Also, I'd be chasing Cambridge scanners for graphics.
