A 3w RGB pure diode module??

ive just purchased a 1w 520 diode, 1.4w 462 diode and 2x 500mw 638 diodes with the plan to build a small all in one module - including drivers and correction optics. has anyone else done similar, if so post ya work up id love to get some ideas

I would personally add a bit of blue

Yep, the ones from logsquared just arrived in the post today

I'll post some (unpowered) pics a bit later if I get a chance (no access to workshop until after the weekend due to visitors)

I would say though that you could get away with 1x red diode, mine are happy around 800mW, and using an overdriven 700mW 520 for economy (in as much as it'll be obsolete and replaced before i manage to break it from reduced running hours from a bit of overdriving)

P.S. Why did you buy a 1.4W 9mm 462 diode when the 2W M462 5.6mm are more powerful and cheaper?

this is for someone else projector so wont be over driving anything.

it was the m462 2w diode I ordered but I wont be driving it at 2w

I think this is the sweet spot for small diode builds. In most venues you don't need more than this exact combination. I have seen a few build this layout. I think OPT in China does this layout but with the 3.5watt 445. His has correction on the blue and red. but not on the green.

I cant wait to see what you come up with! its going to be cool to see.

The 500mw red is rated for 700mw pulsed which is closer to laser show use. I think that both of my diodes were giving >800mw at rated current... Which was nice!

2x 500mw reds will be fine for me

this is a 1w red and 1w 445 build I did ages ago

think its something like 60mm wide by 120mm long (cant remember exact dimensions)
