    Default Big 2015 Project

These forums need livening up, got a big project lined up for the first part of 2015.

    30x 170mw 637nm diode build for a 5w red.

the plan is to machine the base plate from a single block of aluminium, still got a few bits to add to the drawing but the main parts are fully done. Including drivers the unit should measures 300mm L by 215mm W

ive designed a new mirror mount which no one has ever seen before, completely new concept on the mirror mount front which will help make the unit smaller than using normal mirror mounts.

    more to follow in 2015

while impressive I simply can't believe this is more practical than just correcting a bunch of the multi-mode diodes?

I would love to see it done though!!!

then build another one with LOCs and combine the two with a semrock dichro

Try getting 5W of red in a nice tight clean beam with multi mode diodes, good luck...

If multi mode diodes are so good why hasn't kvant, rgb and arctos switches?

i'm interested in what you've done with your mirror mounts. can you share?

It would just be nice to test one before making any claims

Why not put the wave-plate and PBS before the telescope ?

This way, you decrease costs and also decrease the risk of misalignement .

you wont decrease cost as you would need a very big cube to fit the beams in.
