here are the M3 insyulators - little top hats of plastic that allow you to use metal screws as the doc said.
Oh, OK. Yea, I have some of those on my transitors. I am not sure if those insulators would work in my application or not due to some clearance issues. I think the plastic screws should be plenty strong for this, though.
The mica sheets were cheap. Only about $2 per 3x5" sheet. The website says it machines easy. I would have prefered something easier but didn't know what to look for so didn't find anything else.
You've got a milling machine??!!A quick pass on the milling machine to remove .004" from my base
Dude, you got it made!
(actually theres one here at work so i got it made too )
Yea, I bought one of those chinese mini-mills when I first started getting interested in making a laser show. It has come in very handy for making custom mounts and other stuff.
Got my mica and plastic screws today. Didn't take long to get everything back together. Both lasers work from the same power supply now. woo hoo. Had fun making yellow, green, and red dots on the fence. Now time for some real fun.
