    Default Larger aperture scanner options?

Ok, so a project in the pipeline is getting behind schedule, and the original plan of using 506's with 5mm mirrors may be out of the question due to lead time on 506's and the time involved in modding the DT amps my end.

So I'm looking for a backup plan, probably as a stop gap until the full 506 sets become available, and I can swap out the whole kit and kaboodle.

I need to steer a 5 to 5.5mm square beam around as wide as possible (beams only). Who makes a scanner with a larger aperture mirror these days for reasonable money? Forget Eye Magics and Cambridge, we're talking East!

Do the AL40's come with a larger mirror option?

edit: the Phenix PT-A40 with 12mm mirrors look like a strong option. Is Lightspace the best place to source these?

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

6810s from Ebay are a possibility. I found a vendor who did sell me the correct mirrors. I can PM you his Ebay Nom De Gurre,,,
Slow, but likes a big mirror. Tunes up on older DT amps.

If you like very big beams....

I have three working sets of Cambridge 6350s I need to get rid of. However they are 1. HUGE and the Amps are 2. VERY BIG. (you'd need to design a plus sized , over weight, projector ) ;-)

... I'm using geared servo-motors instead of galvos to drive 40x40mm-mirrors ... but this is not for shows, more like laser-engraving/sintering with 500mm/s across a 300x300mm area and PWM-driving some 100Watts CW power across the mirrors ;-)

Thanks for the offer Steve and the suggestions.
I think I'd like to keep the footprint as small as possible, mainly because the intended scanners will be C506, and with the digi amp will be miniscule compared to even 'normal' size scan sets these days.

Creating lots of space to fit big scanner and amps only to have it become vacant at some point in the future is a bit at odds with the design brief.

PTA40's direct from Lightspace are your best option for new and cheap price.

    otherwise...

i do have 2 pairs of Cambridge 6810P's with Cambridge OEM drivers and power supplies , in nice remote sized housings.
mirrors will fit what appears to be, up to a 10mm beam size...

PM if interested in pics and prices.
