In his video, he mentions that The Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Sequence are the same thing.

    They are not!

The Golden Ratio is an ancient concept. It is a line segment broken into two parts such that the ratio of the lesser to the greater is the same proportion as the greater to the whole. It requires the quadratic formula to solve it. You end up with irrational numbers of approximately 0.62 to 1.00 to 1.62.

The Fibonacci Sequence is an infinite series of numbers starting with 1, 1. The rest of the numbers are made from the sum of the previous two. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc...

    The Golden Ratio is . . .
Interesting, James! Perhaps we should attribute the error to Jack Storms being an art major instead of a math major??

True, but artists are often fascinated by math.

It's always good to know what you are talking about.

I can't even imagine how breathtaking a few lasers making their way through all of that glass would be .. probably unbelievable. I hope somebody can do that one day. Probably a rich person who own lasers . Is there such a thing?

    Speaking of infinite series notation...

What do you suppose the sum of all natural numbers is?

    1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 ...etc... to positive infinity

It would seem to be positive infinity, right?

    Not so.

    It is -1/12!

The Parthenon was built using the golden ratio?

    I think so!

    A lot of speaker boxes from the 50s through the 70s were built that way, D : W : H = 0.62 : 1.00 : 1.62!

That's The Parthenon laying flat on its back!
