My question was directed to BlueFang, as at SELEM he mentioned his specialty is GUI interface programming and will be tightly integrating maxwell to the APC-40 layout and preset screens. So my priority is which I need for his integration. As a side project I would also try it with Beyond. Sorry I wasn't clearer in my original post.

I'm fairly positive it was the apc40-mkii. check out the pics I posted on facebook. you should be able to tell from them.

I was using the APC 40 Mkii. Any controller will work when assigning midi control in Maxwell, but as mentioned at SELEM, my plan is to add a mode of "tight" integration between Maxwell and the APC 40mkii.

The difference between the Mki and Mkii is that the Mkii has RGB LEDs for the clip-launch buttons (5 rows of 8 columns of buttons), a slightly more compact layout, and USB bus power.

Some people don't like the smaller, more compact Mkii - I happen to like the compactness and not having to cary around yet another wall wart and the RGB LEDs are pretty neat and can be helpful in preset management.

I really need to try out Maxwell. I have an Etherdream and have never even used it. Sounds like a good opportunity! BlueFang, what is your schedule like? We should finally try to get together. I'm usually open Tues and Friday after work during the week.

It is still ongoing. The first quarter of 2016 was really busy for me work wise - lots of traveling and other activities. It is looking like a nice rainy weekend here and I hope to put together a way of distribution and an official 1.0 release. Until then, I will update the beta version which allow everyone to keep on mashing buttons and twisting knobs.

The Maxwell release is coming soon... I promise... we are talking days - not months...

    New things will include:

    * Much better control over blanking/black modulation (Swami asked for this at SELEM)
    * Modulation of scale is now possible with a scale LFO
    * Improvements to the blanking/point optimizations
    * Faster switching between presets (this depends on the speed of your computer - but there is now a turbo mode for fast preset switching)
    * Lots and lots and lots of bugs have been fixed

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
