Today I used my computer directly, and because I only needed ONE ILDA output, and I have cable for 30-40 meters for one laser, and then out from that to the next one.

One question, how far can you have the ILDA cable before the signal goes weak?
If it`s so simple to just extend the IDLA cable, can I then use a multiple CAT6 or something similiar, and solder my own 4 HUB ILDA to ILDA extender cable? (LPT\DB25 hubs are cheap these days)

But as said before, I think a USB extender (will USB 1.0 work?, as they are cheaper) will maybe be the best solution without so much cabling.

No, USB 1.0 won't work (or at least not with an FB3) I had a port go to USB1.0 on a job and the output became VERY lumpy, liquid skies bcame finger beams, movement got jerky, etc

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

USB 1.0 is only 1.5Mbs I believe. Therein lies the problem. It's only designed for low speed communication by keyboards, mice etc.

Thank you for that, then I stay away from the cheap 1.0 HUBS on ebay.

Btw, here is short clip of my gig today (a pink floyd tribute, the band playing is NOT professional, but doing it for fun) I think they did a good job btw.

Even if using a usb2 extender, make sure it works with your DAC. Experience with FB3 has shown only a few do and they are more expensive than the cheap ones.

Just an opinion.... I think you would have liked them even more if they had been mirrored. I also think I would have made a little more use of cones and exercise a little more movement. Not bad though and certainly a good experience I'm sure.

    My setup is:
    Pangolin BEYOND
Projectors connected to FB3s backstage, all plugged into a startech adapter (just one cat5 cable run to my computer at FOH) (looking at making / getting one of those magic norty boxes)
Controlled using an Akai APC40 and (more importantly) my custom mapped Maschine MKII

    And a video:

    that second picture is epic
I love how people start to take photos and make "wow" sound when the lasers goes ON.

@bradfo: my lasers was mirrored, but in that particular effect it was hard to notice because it was a circle going around i think.
