People press the wrong buttons sometimes. Send them the email, get the response quickly, problem dealt with.
Who is paying the shipping? It may not be cost effective to send back to them.

My point is that if the value of the module to them is less than the shipping fee, you're better off paying the re-stocking fee and keeping the laser.
You could also then resell the laser and recoup your costs.
Given that they'll maybe have to pay something to receive the head, its often really not worth sending it. Have they stated they want it back, or is that your assumption?
