Steve, next time you're up this way come on by. My dev studio's projectors all use PT-A40K's... they're alright. I prefer the DT40s so far... For $200 they're a pretty good deal. I wonder how much they actually cost :P

I saw the PT-A40's in action in Utila, and I was impressed. However, like everyone else, I need to know the price.

If they cost $200, that's great. $500? Not so great.

Well Lightspace sell them for $300 but I believe there is an OEM backdoor which might be what Song is selling. Certainly, I was quoted slightly different specs to Eightonlights for what was allegedly the same units.

Can Song offer the different mirror size options too?

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Yeah, I don't think they're claiming that they can run the ILDA test pattern at 30K while scanning 60 degrees. (If they are, they're full of it!)

But in my experience you can push the scanners that wide under normal beam-show use, which is something you can't do with the standard PT-40's.

Granted, the Compact 506's will do the ILDA test pattern at 30K and at 35 degrees, and will scan far wider than that under normal beam-show use, but until we have amps for them it's kinda hard to justify buying a set...
