... source a cheap DLP-projector and remove all parts not used for your application - I've bought some DLP's with 800x600- to 1024x786-DMD's with 'broken lamp', but in working condition for prices like 12€ to 60€ ... and new Casio-A130/A140 with removed laser bank for 45€ each.
Then run them with the common video signal (VGA/HDMI) to set the pixels ...
