suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
The sound those props make is pretty scary. That thing is moving fast enough to cause serious injury!
How the pilot manages to fly it at that speed is beyond me. 45 seconds into the video I have no idea what orientation the bird is flying in...

Holy jesus! That's absolutely nuts! You can hardly follow it in the video.

Uh.... I love the fact that Youtube now creates it's own playlist based on what you've watched. THIS came up next! And I love having a 27" monitor and sound system with sub on my desk.

Just for shits and giggles, I've been researching and pricing out the parts. This is by no means an expensive bird. I'm not about to build one but, curiosity had me wondering.
They aren't as expensive as one might expect - this is true. But when you add in the FPV system that adds a lot. Also, if you want to go 98 mph, you're going to spend a shitload more...
Chris sent me a load-out for a nice 250 quad that would cost less than $170 with upgraded motors and props. I still had to add my own radio, but I happen to have a spare already. The kicker is the $530 set of 3D stereoscopic goggles I want.
I think the guy that posted the video of the 98 mph bird (the one with the 6S battery) probably spent just under a grand on his unit. Still not that bad considering the extreme performance.
For some more comedic value, here's another video I found that shows what can go wrong when people fly beyond their ability. Admittedly though, this pilot was galactically stupid. (Flying in traffic and near power lines!) Note: The guy who posted the video is not the pilot - he's just the guy who ended up picking up the crashed quad:

A friend if mine is an engineer working with a lot of carbon fibre and has scratch built a fully carbon laminate oct-rotator - 4 limbs with over and under slung props.
I'll see if i can get some pics of it off his FB feed, its pretty f*ckin' epic!

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
