So.... I'm going on the assumption this means we need to make sure we have a jewelers screwdriver or something on hand all the time, correct? I'm really torn on this. I prefer the knobs but, I'm fully aware of why they're going to be recessed trimmers and from a safety standpoint, yeah.... I'll breathe a little easier too but, I have a feeling that's going to make set up regularly a lot longer. Maybe not though since I pretty much have projectors in the exactly same place most of the time.

Ya need to getchey one / two / 6 of of these, Sire.. http://www.alliedelec.com/bourns-h-9...FQIrvQodug4A-A (..and leave 2x mounted on string AT your Router-station.. ..Also, Indispensable for scanner-tuning, etc.. And, to your point about 'pj's being in the same place', Yes, if anyone could more-often nearly 'set / forget', I'd bet it would be You / yer place.. Nice to have such a venue 'in yer pocket'..

..Though, I had a similar initial-thought / reaction as Jonathan (platinum) there, re: the 'risk of bumping knobs'.. Just either build a quickie 'acrylic dog-house' (very-easy to DIY cut / heat / bend-up with a common 'hand-brake', used for house siding / flashing, etc..) for the knobs, that can screw on w/ the rack-mounting screws, and even '3M tape (VHB) mount an acry-hinge' to the 'meat' between the units, etc, so you can make it a 'flip-up' / down cover-box.. OR, just make a 'key-locked' / hinged acrylic-door over your entire Rack-face.. That's what we used to do over our Racks w/ the famous 'LSDI UGCs', etc.. Keeping unwanted knob-twiddlers from skanking your settings should really not be a difficult issue to solve..

..I'd, personally, much-rather have the 'quickly-adjustable knobs', since for Road-gigs, you will be 'changing, every show', etc, but.. 'Tis what it 'tis.. Very-awesome device, DZ / Ed.. Three-cheers to you guys for Dev'ing / making this Avail.. Hope I can manage to score one, at some point..

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Just read the webpage about this thing. This thing is SO COOL!
I wouldn't be pre-ordering but I'm sure at some point in the near future I could use one of these.

Hi Everyone! Currently accepting motorbikes in trade for a Router!

    Just kidding!

I wanted to share a couple features of the newer model. The rear includes a DMX pass-thru now. We did settle on 3-pin connectors however, the Router will include a 3-pin to 5-pin converter for both the DMX in and DMX pass-thru.

On the front of the Router, there's now an E-Stop button, when pressed this will open all the interlocks, including the ILDA pass-thru connectors.

The front panel potentiometers have been changed to trimmers. These are single turn trim potentiometers.

We've also added a keyswitch, when in the off position no configuration changes may occur from the front panel LCD/encoder. When in the on position changes to the configuration are possible. The monitor has also been relocated to the front panel.

Excellent updates and I think the changes make for a great pro piece of gear!

However I'm still scratching my head why you are sticking with 3pin XLR for DMX as it is not the USITT/PLASA standard. Allowing the use of plain old mic cable as DMX is bad practice, and though it 'works', the cable impedance can cause problems. This is why going 5pin forces folks to use the proper cables.
All your other connectors are to proper industry spec, why leave this one out?
