Default Pair of new projector builds....

Ok, so this has been going on for a little while but i figured you probably wouldn't want to see the tedious wiring stuff. The interesting stuff is to come in the next few weeks...
This has been a joint project between myself and Logsquared - I'm doing the easy bit of building the projectors, he's doing the artwork on the laser modules, and they do look lovely... Proper pics when they arrive, and probably some words from Chris about them. A properly transatlantic venture.

Projectors are starting to look a little more like projectors this evening, a good chunk of the wiring is now dealt with.

Components you can see here are:
    Stanwax ILDA interface boards
Stanwax DS3+ colour correction/buffer boards (there's a few drivers to modulate so figured the buffers would be a good idea)
Cases from Goldenstar with custom rear panels to accomodate Rob's board
400W of 12V Meanwell PSUs (which might give a hint about what needs to be driven... )
Variable DC-DC board to slow down the case fans a bit. Really don't need 12V fans screaming away. 3 intake, 2 exhaust (to maintain positive pressure and allow for some intake losses due to filters) plus an 80mm fan to cool the baseplate heatsinks directly.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

.Wow! You've certainly got my attention. Look at all that DC power available from those meanwell switchers! This IS going to be an interesting build, thanks for sharing Norty.
Can't wait to see the diodes/modules... You do tend to build in pairs now, and build big to boot!

I'm updating an album on my Facebook page more regularly than this thread, but there'll probably be more dialogue here.

Pairs is the way forward. I might be selling my single 3.5W RGB (506's, Kvant 1W 638, etc) as it doesn't go out so often now I tend to do multiple symmetrical layouts.

Sadly these are not going to be my projectors, they are a project with a few stakeholders, although I should have access to them should the need arise. That's said, I've only ever quoted on one job where something like these would be appropriate, and that never happened as they didn't have the budget for any lasers in the end.

My next pair for my own use are likely to be 7-8W full diode units. Even then, 3-4W RGB do an awful lot of different gigs round these parts.

    Ok, here's the money shot....

About 40W total power in that pic

Jors, prisms will be added once I've fixed the final alignment. That's why the baseplate has the spare space out front
