Default Loads of laser stuff for sale

    Hi all

I just noticed a posting over on alt.lasers. This company has loads of stuff to clear out. Here's the posting and the link...

    *****************************************
    Hi all,

Sorry for writing so much "for sale" adds to this group, but we
are moving and any part I sell before moving will be one part less
    to move ;-)

I have a few things which I want to sell:

    - ALC909 argon laser head (matching switching power supplies available, used
    and new tubes available)
    - Complete Lexel 88 turn-key systems (black, scientific version with
switching power supplies and remote, most of them with brand new tube)
    - Tested and perfect working Coherent Enterprise, I-300 and I-300C power
    supplies
    - Tested and working Coherent Verdi / AVIA power supplies (different models
    available)
    - several Modelocking/Controllers for Tsunami and Mira fs lasers
    - several Coherent FAP, DUO FAP and QUATTRO FAP diode laser units (used and
    brand new), 690nm, 785nm, 808nm, 915nm available
    - several Coherent FAP-I modules (with several different diode power levels,
    used and brand new)
    - several power meters (Ophir, Coherent) and heads, used and brand new
    - several Advantest Q8384 OSAs (with fresh calibration and fresh system
check by Advantest representative in Germany)
    - several 2GHz to 5GHz oscilloscopes
    - Spectra Physics 171 ion laser parts, also ONE brand new Krypton tube (I
also have all other parts to do a complete system)
    - A.A PCAOMs used and brand new electronics (1, 4, 6, and 8 channel) and
    matching crystals
    - 2x Verdi 10 laser
    - 1x Millennia 5 laser (classic style)
    - several Melles Griot and Physik Instrumente 3 and 6 axis positioning
systems (with piezo and motors and of course with controllers)
    - several Advantest Q8325 high precision wavelenght meters with fresh
    calibration and complete system check
    - several Novacure 2001 UV curing systems
    - several Thorlabs PROFILE LD/TEC conrollers with a large variety of LD/TEC
    and laser source plug-ins

Ok, that is about 5% or even less of my stock right now....if anybody is
interested, please send me an email via our website
(sorry, website is absolutelly NOT up-to-date) or give me a call: 0049 831

I have no connection at all with this company, I just thought some on the Forum may find the link useful. I've checked out their website and they have some pretty cool stuff.

    Cheers

we have bought stuff off Florian a couple of years ago.

I must say, he is a very honest character, and his gear is top quality

Congratulatins on the 100 mark, JEM.

I contacted Florian about 8 or 9 months ago after being referred to him by several people - both here and on alt.lasers. I asked him about the ALC 909 argon tubes he has. He has several of them, and the guy has a great reputation for refurbishing quality stuff, so I figured he'd be a good guy to ask about a possible replacement tube for my dead HGM 5 unit.

Unfortunately, while his gear may be in top condition, so are his prices. He quoted me $2800 for a used (but refurbished) argon tube. That's the base price, before shipping or import duty. (Remember, he's in Germany.)

I thanked him for taking the time to send me a reply, but I had to decline. At that price, I could have purchased a 1 watt DPSS green and had money left over... (Plus the DPSS laser would have run off 110V power and wouldn't need all the extra cooling that the argon would.)

I'm not saying that, for the right medical buyer, that price woulnd't have been reasonable... All I'm saying is that for hobbyists, his prices are on the high end of what is usually expected.

Edit: I have to agree with Dave though; the guy has a reputation for being very honest. Also, his e-mails were quite informative and friendly, even if his prices were beyond my reach.

I've just sent him an email regarding the price of a Coherent c315m 100mw 532nm DPSS Laser. These are brilliant for holography, very stable single mode. If the price is reasonable I may think about getting one to replace my ageing 10mw 532.8nm HeNe which i'm currently using to make holograms.

I like Florian, he's cool, very helpful. The only reason I'm not piling into that like a maiden aunt at a jumble sale is I haven't got any money on the scale needed even for one of those Ophir meters. The Verdi, mmm, the stuff of dreams, no?

Just had a reply from Florian.

Alas, he has no Compass 315m's left

I agree Doc, there's some tempting stuff on there.

How much for the 690nM FAP unit? Used would be okay.

You're right, Dave. I fat-fingered that one. Should have been 1 watt.

(I edited the original to fix the typo)
