No denying the effort that went into these remixes -
But, to my ears, they definitely are not an improvement by a long shot -
Different for sure, but definitely not something I would listen to.

Hey, I remember when DSOTM was brand new ~
If any of these remixes were substituted for the "real thing" during a laser show, I would probably request a refund...

This is a thread about opinions, so to each his own

IMHO, I've never heard a "remix" of a Pink Floyd classic that was worth listening to.
But then again, I'm not a huge fan of most music that might wind up at the club scene (admittedly, there are a few exceptions).

Classic rock - the original versions - generally work fine for me

No replies for a month then tons of replies. I agree Eric Prydz is far better at sticking with the original thought. However I like trance as well as a more minimal progressive sound. I think Neptune project did a good job with it but I feared many here would disagree. At least one person liked it

Adam, sticking to Prydz. Check out his version of M83's Midnight City.

To the rest of you, I never claimed it was better that the original. The original of all classic rock will always be the best version. No disagreement there.

Interesting. I had never heard the original, so I listened to that first. Too slow, and not really my thing. Then I listened to Prydz' remix. Much faster, and more upbeat. While I'm still not in love with the basic hook, I have to admit that I like Prydz' version better.

Agreed. But I still like to listen to remixes. Just because the original is best doesn't mean that you can't also enjoy a revisited version, right?
