yay thanks for letting me in the ion club :3 More stuff coming soon!
I'm going to work on making another front cover for a smaller apperture to have less of that blue light shining to the front. Likely using that risidual beam for lumia or so.

@DZ: Thanks! I might add the G120's as a place holder for the current scanners. I love the G120's honestly they are more then capable scanners for any modern lasershow they are noisy compared to other scanners but I always overlay the audio anyway and normally music would be really loud as well.

Yeah the fade effects really make it soft here its all very linear which really does help on beamshows rathern then these rough and bumpy transitions towards dark.

Isn't the superior color balance coming from the modulation method and not necessarily the ion source? Would solid state or even direct diode sources produce a better color balance than they do now if they were modulated with a pcaom? This is not to take anything from this set up. I really like it and wish I had three phase power available here.

Anyway, this ion laser is so much more interesting than a multimode diode laser! The beam characteristics should be much better as well. What are the near field and far field beam dimensions?

There's more to it than just color balance, there's also modulation response. Both of these are functions of the pcaom. Aside from that, depending on the quality of the ion, you generally have a perfectly Gaussian beam and no need to worry about dichros being out of adjustment.

I also had someone point something out to me at a FLEM a couple years ago. I brought a lexel 85 and someone notice that the images had a great deal of speckle whereas the solid state projectors appeared to have very little. I thought this was an interesting observation.
